Creating stylish interiors to designed around youStyling your home with LA Hally Architect
LA Hally Architect we like to ensure that our well-designed external facades, work harmoniously alongside considered interiors complementing each other as a holistic design. Our aim is that every project of ours is magazine worthy, a level of excellence we are extremely proud of.
In extension and renovation projects we will make suggestions to the client to ensure any work being done externally looks seamless, inside and out, either making it difficult to know what’s new or sometimes offering interesting juxtapositions of older character and modern finishes. More often than not, this is more about harmonising different elements of the design rather than creating additional work however, taking this approach can sometimes mean doing a little bit more work than originally anticipated, but for the majority of clients this is money well spent.
For new build we like to produce an interiors booklet which gives information about the interior of every part of every room, to aim to capture as much detail as possible prior to starting on site. Often this information is elaborated upon when on site, or adapted as things changes, but helps set an overall direction for the entire project and will include things like paint colours and choices of for every bathroom.
If you are opting for our full service, our interiors service is included. Alternatively, we can offer the service as a separate package. Beautifully composed interiors need thought and planning nut most importantly a keen eye for detail and philosophy to work towards. We get involved with all aspects of interiors, such as:
- Helping to choose sanitaryware
- Suggesting designer brands, or cheaper alternatives
- Helping with tiling options including providing tiling layouts to ensure the overall effect is as desired.
- Providing mood boards for individual rooms
- Suggesting flooring materials, explaining the pros and cons of each
- Hardware suggestions, such as door furniture
- Helping to choose sockets and switches, to get all those finer details right.
We often work with many well-known brands and are often able to introduce our clients to our contacts in the industry where this could be beneficial. We understand that not everyone has the same budget and can work to a budget that suits the individual and make suggestions for where its best to spend and where you could budget if necessary.
At the Building control stage of projects, we will talk through lighting and electrical layouts with our clients. Having previously worked in London with some of the UK’s top lighting designers, we can bring our skills and knowledge in this area into every project, to create bespoke lighting layouts that work for your lifestyle. Lighting design can become complex, and we sometimes work with lighting designers who deal with smart home automations where more complex lighting solutions are required, for example for a home cinema design or smart lighting using keypad controls.
In some case it can be difficult to understand complex interior spaces, when this happens, we may suggest 3D modelling of the interior to help. 3D modelling can make it easier for some clients to fully appreciate how the designs will actually look and feel more comfortable in making design choices.
With most of our projects we are involved in designing joinery, feature staircases, bespoke storage, wardrobes, seating etc, and often work alongside local specialists who can produce bespoke pieces from our drawings. We can also provide material and product investigation involving colour palettes, putting together samples and picking products to suit the space within the client’s budget. Choices of materials and products can be quite overwhelming however we can help, using our experience to rationalise the choices for you and put together palettes honed to the individual, that suite the spaces we have created.
