We were looking to renovate our house by adding a two storey extension including new bedroom and en suite. Lesley walked us through various design ideas before we decided on the final design. She also supported the bidding process with all tenderers by preparing thorough RFQ's with associated BOQ's and helped normalise the bids when they were received helping us make the right decision on the preferred bidder. Once construction was underway, she was incredibly thorough at assessing progress with the contractor ensuring payment valuations were accurate as well as managing change carefully and fairly through the whole build. Having had a poor experience with Architects before, we were cautious and hesitant and Lesley was respectful of that. Lesley and her team were fundamental in getting a difficult planning application and amendments in a sensitive area across the line under the hardest of circumstances, which included during Covid lockdowns and isolation and at the sharp end of the implementation of novel Nitrate Neutrality regulations; and some rather curious trial examination procedures by the Local Authority. The project was overseen by Lesley and led by Amelia, who was expert in discussions with the Local Authority and Natural England over these new environmental rules and emergency regulations. LA Hally were the the first in the region to get a small development through Nitrate Neutrality with the Local Authority using this project as a test case. Landscape, design, roadside vernacular, and a Highways Authority built access which then needed a Certificate of Lawful Development were all handled by Lesley and her team brilliantly and with minimal stress.
