Our clients bought this beautiful Victorian house for more space and its idyllic location, a stone’s throw away from the river Itchen. They wanted to retain the character and improve services. The property sits in a large plot which backs onto the railway line. 

At the side, a new porch with a traditional Victorian front door and a large full height glazing welcomes you into a light and airy entrance hall. Sliding doors open to a new open plan kitchen diner with utility and pantry. This new single storey rear extension has an oversized roof lantern, and Crittal style glazing wrapping around with glazed doors opening out to the garden. The property now has six bedrooms with modernised bathrooms throughout, with the large master suite hosting a luxurious free-standing round bath.  

Externally the two extensions are built from red brick to match the existing house, and brick detailing complements the charming Victorian details. A new garage replaces the existing in the same style.
