House 730

Project – House 730

Location – Winchester

Scope of Works – Renovation

Located just off Winchesters high street House 730, which forms part of a group of listed properties, will undergo a complete transformation, with the current multiple flats returning to an original large 5 storey house. Our client intends to sensitively restore the staircase and preserve the character and history by reopening original windows and doorways. From the front, the property remains in keeping with the surrounding street scene. At the rear, the original block will be clad in Corten steel to modernise against the weathered red brick. The new windows will be bronze framed to suit the new cladding. A terrace will be reinstated with steps down to the proportionate patio and garden.

Throughout the 5 floors are tasteful additions to make this a family home, such as a guest suite with gym and sauna, an open plan kitchen diner, a double height library with glass archway, extra bedrooms with dressers and ensuites, and lastly a study and playroom at the top floor.

Originally the property was a coach house, so the original opening at the front will turn into the garage doors, and at the rear it will be restored, and a tall glass arched window is set in, with French doors leading to the patio and garden.
