House 709
Project – House 709
Location – Hamble-le-Rice
Scope of Works – New Build
The existing detached property is heavily influenced by Bauhaus principles, and so our client’s home is a revised and increased replacement for a poorly insulated existing house, while maintaining the original architectural style. With the existing house demolished it gave the client a chance to build a highly insulated home in ICF panels, with a bold cantilever.
The ground floor has expansive glazing spanning the width of the property, bringing in light which we enhance by introducing a double height lobby. New open-plan living space is on the upper floor with indoor/outdoor entertaining areas, created by glazed sliding doors leading to a spacious roof terrace with sweeping views over the marina. The material palette remains as simple white render with metal cappings, sympathetic to the original character of Crowsport Estate.
