House 658
Project – House 658
Location – Winchester
Scope of Works – Renovation + Extension
House 658 is our client’s detached family home in Winchester. The property benefits from a garden that is shrouded by tall, evergreen trees that create a real sense of privacy and serenity which created an ideal opportunity to create something special. The home underwent a sympathetic two-storey side extension and a more modern rear extension that created a new master suite, including a bedroom, ensuite, walk-in wardrobe, and dressing room to the first floor, and a new playroom, office, and open plan kitchen-diner to the ground floor. The interiors for this project were done alongside the client’s interior designer, Laura Porter, who helped this home come to life.
By giving the side and the rear extensions their own character, the adapted home achieves a finished look that presents as wholly in-keeping to the public front, using red brick and white framed windows to continue the existing palette, but contemporary to the private rear by introducing dark frames and dark metal cladding. A large span of dark framed bifold doors sit underneath a powder coated aluminium canopy, creating a modern touch that increases connectivity to the garden whilst also flooding the home with light, creating a home that the whole family can enjoy alone or together.
