House 388
Project – House 388
Location – Awbridge
Scope of Works – New Build
Having previously worked on House 388 to renovate and extend, our returning clients asked us to design a workshop at the end of their garden. Our client, a handbag designer, wanted a space to be creative, requiring thoughtful solutions to hold rolls of material, surfaces to work, and plenty of light to craft these handmade designs. With a rooflight and extensive glazed bifold doors, the workshop is bright, airy, and has framed views of the garden and surrounding forestry, creating a perfect space to work.
New hard landscaping has created a private outdoor area for hosting guests and enjoying nature. The workshop is finished in brick, painted white, and timber cladding which will weather to the same colour and texture as the cladding on the main house, creating a thoughtful and complementary addition. The positioning of the workshop in the corner of the site informed its trapezoidal shape, creating an asymmetrical roof and distinctive design.
