House 288
Project – House 288
Location – Chandler’s Ford
Scope of Works – Renovation + Extension
Set back from the road and screened by mature trees and hedgerows, this modest chalet bungalow has been transformed into a modern family home through the addition of two small single storey extensions and a roof extension, creating a new open plan living area at ground floor and a new children’s bedroom, cinema room and boutique-style master bedroom above.
With bespoke trapezoidal windows offering views to the front and rear the house is flooded with natural light, with double-height spaces and vaulted ceilings making it feel spacious and bright. The property is finished externally in a mix of render, grey engineering brick and varied-width cladding, giving it a crisp, contemporary appearance. Working within the intelligent technologies sector the client has integrated various home automation systems throughout the property, from home security systems to personalised doorbells and weather apps.
House 288 has previously been featured in the October 2015 edition of Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, and in 2017 won its category at the Build It Awards for “Best Renovation/Extension Architect”.
